Official Opening of the Max Planck Laboratory at the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology – 20th April 2016
We are very happy to announce the official event for the Opening of the Max Planck Laboratory at the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology next week, Wednesday, 20th of April 2016. For this occasion, we have managed to convince several honorary guests (including recently re-elected Rektor, Wojciech Nowak, and the Vicepresident of the Max Planck Society, Bill Hansson) and world class scientists to visit the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology located at the "Campus of the 600th Anniversary of the Jagiellonian University Revival" (ul Gronostajowa 7a) – please see the event poster for details of the invited scientists and guests.
We would like to cordially invite everybody that is interested to attend the scientific lectures of Nobel Prize laureate Ada E. Yonath (Weizmann Institute of Science), Christoph W Müller (EMBL Heidelberg) and Wolfgang Baumeister (MPI of Biochemistry), which will be held at the main building (Gronostajowa 7) in the auditorium (P0.1.1) – the attendance is for free and no registration is needed.

The Max Planck Research Group at the Jagiellonian University started its operations end of last year and is headed by Dr. Sebastian Glatt. His international research team is using structural biology and cell biology to understand cellular mechanisms involved in the onset of neurodegenerative diseases and cancer. The laboratory not only performs world class molecular biology in medically relevant fields, but also collaborates with many international research groups all over the world.
