Dr. Ewelina Pośpiech has recently participated in a conference organized by the Polish Society of Forensic Medicine and Criminology which was held in Lublin on 18-20 September 2019.
Dr. Pośpiech focuses on prediction methods for various physical traits and is investigating a correlation between epigenetic age and progressive traits. At the conference, she presented results of the research project VISAGE (VISible Attributes Through Genomics) funded from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (GA no 740580). The presentation showed results of a study on the link between DNA methylation and aging processes and application of the epigenetic age prediction in forensics. Her speech received the Young Scientist Award for the best oral presentation. Previously, she was awarded by the Young Scientist Award granted by the Japan Society of Human Genetics (2014) and award for outstanding young scientists granted by the Foundation for Polish Science (START, 2017).
