The mainstream of our research concerns interactions between the virus and the host cell. We seek cellular receptors and activating factors, which define the species and tissue specificity; we delineate virus internalization routes and decipher the viral interactome in the cell to understand its crosstalk with our body.
Scope of research
Our work focuses on the tissue level (3D tissue cultures, organoids), single cell level, and atomic level (cryoEM, crystallography). We translate our basic research into the application, and over years I have developed a successful applicatory program focusing on new antivirals.
