RECTOR of the Jagiellonian University announces competition for the post of technician, INDEPENDENT BIOLOGIST in the faculty staff group in the ViroGenetics - BSL3 Laboratory of Virology group at the MALOPOLSKA CENTRE OF BIOTECHNOLOGY (CARE Project, Horizon 2020)

Requirements:
• Master’s degree in the field of molecular biology or similar, e.g., biology, biotechnology, microbiology;
• Experience in working with infectious material (at least Biosafety Level 2);
• English: at least B2+; enabling efficiently reading and understanding scientific publications;
• Computer skills;
• Experience in the field of molecular virology evidenced by scientific publications.

Role:
The successful candidate will take an active part in the Corona Accelerated R&D in Europe (CARE) project.
The ViroGenetics Team from the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology, leaded by Professor Krzysztof Pyrc is part
of the European initiative to tackle coronavirus, Corona Accelerated R&D in Europe (CARE).
CARE is a five-year project supported by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI). With a funding exceeding
€75 million, the consortium is bringing together 37 partners from globally renowned academic institutions, nonprofit
research organizations and pharmaceutical companies. The initiative is committed to create effective
therapies with a positive safety profile for the COVID-19 pandemic and future coronavirus threats.
