prof. Jerzy Duszynski appointed the #COVID19 advisory team to the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The main role of the team will be to monitor the situation in Poland and in Europe, analyze possible scenarios for the future and to prepare the scientific recommendations.
A multidisciplinary COVID-19 advisory team to the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences has been established with the chairman – prof. Jerzy Duszyński from Polish Academy of Sciences and deputy chairman – prof. Krzysztof Pyrć from Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology.
The main goals for the advisory team are on-going monitoring of the COVID-19 epidemic emergency in Poland and analysis of possible scenarios of COVID-19 epidemic development in the country and Europe, against the background of the global situation.
Among other objectives are the preparation of substantive documents summarizing the experience of subsequent stages of combating the COVID-19 epidemic in Poland, developing recommendations concerning readiness to face a new wave of COVID-19 epidemic or appearance of a new variant of SARS-CoV-2 with changed virulence or infectivity and establishment of contacts with similar teams in other countries.
