Do children know how to develop new therapies and medicines? They do now! After a series of workshops entitled "How to find a new drug?" being a part of the Children's University, curious young students discovered how research on understanding the protein structure becomes the foundation for future drug design. During the classes young students had a chance to unravel the world of molecular biology and learn about model organisms used in biochemical research. Young students set up their own yeast cultures and build up spatial models of proteins. The workshops were prepared and supervised by the Max-Planck Laboratory members (Dr Monika Gaik, Anna Kościelniak, Anna Salerno-Kochan, Mikolaj Sokolowski, Karol Zakrzewski) attended by over 640 students, age 10-11 in the period from 21.10.2017 to 25.11.2017.
