Scientists from MCB showed that plasmin inhibition by the oral bacteria T. forsythia contributes to periodontitis
Scientists from Proteolysis and Post-translational Modification of Proteins Research Group at the MCB in collaboration with researchers from JU Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Biotechnology have recently published a paper that focuses on a bacterial protease inhibitor called miropin and its possible implication in periodontitis.
On December 11th we put on our best Christmas sweaters and had a Christmas Party at MCB. This year’s meeting was very special. Our new director and Vice-Rector of Jagiellonian University have joined us in a festive celebration. MCB reception was bustling with cheerful conversations in a relaxed atmosphere.
Five researchers from the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology have been awarded an OPUS grant in the 17th edition of this prestigious contest. In total, the scientists from MCB will receive funding of 8 890 208 PLN.
9.8 mln PLN (EPIGENOME) and 11.2 mln PLN (MICROBIOME) from The National Center for Research and Development for two grants coordinated by the scientists from the Human Genome Variation Research Group and Bioinformatics Research Group at MCB!
