prof. Jerzy Duszynski appointed the #COVID19 advisory team to the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The main role of the team will be to monitor the situation in Poland and in Europe, analyze possible scenarios for the future and to prepare the scientific recommendations.

Microbiological fingerprint of Krakow uncovered during MetaSUB global City Sampling Day on June 22nd
The annual MetaSUB global City Sampling Day (gCSD), synchronized in one day around the world, will be joined by the City of Krakow on 22 June. The aim of the action is to collect swabs with microbiological "fingerprints" of urban space from utility surfaces in the vicinity of public transport.
While disinfection is the key to infection control, colonization, and resistance patterns of hospital microorganisms remain underestimated. A new paper in Nature Medicine, with a contribution of Bioinformatics Group Leader - Prof. Paweł Łabaj as a MetaSUB consortium member, may underline the importance of describing clusters of antibiotic resistance in hospitals and define the feasibility of systematic research to focus resources on infection prevention.
