In response to an appeal by Jagiellonian University employees to launch initiatives to support the Ukrainian research community, the possibility of funding projects of PhD students coming from Ukraine was created within the framework of the ID.UJ programme funds for the implementation of the Research Support Module.
Scholarships for Ukrainian PhD students to continue research and training interrupted by war
Jagiellonian University provides scholarships for PhD students from Ukrainian universities forced to leave their country due to the war. The financial support provided under the Research Support Module may be intended for individuals who are citizens of Ukraine and arrived in Poland after 24 February 2022 and who, prior to the outbreak of war, were pursuing doctoral studies (aspirantura) or were doctoral students and working on their dissertation at Ukrainian universities and other research centres and who wish to conduct or continue their research or development work at Jagiellonian University.
The program offers opportunity to continue the research in the field of Life Sciences (biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, bioinformatics and related fields) in following institutes of the Jagiellonian University:
- Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology (MCB JU)
- Jagiellonian Centre for Experimental Therapeutics (JCET)
- National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS
